Hi everyone,
We came out with the second issue of our 3D music magazine www.ijamrmagazine.com and it has been as successful as the Premiere issue. Over 300,000 hits.
We are now preparing our 3rd issue which should be online in about a week.
In view of this success, we started another 3D magazine but this one in the Food and Wine industries. FOODS Today. We'll give you the link when it comes out
Hi guys if anyone of you wishes to become a Magazine Publisher in any particular field (I mean 3D magazine online)
Let me know. This is a great business opportunity and I wish to expand in other industries.
Right now I am starting 2 more. One for foods and one about Remodeling.
Anyhow, that's what I do in addition to helping musicians get exposure
If you know a musician who wants to sell his/her music, tell them to go to www.iJamr.com
Everyone has a dream. Are your dreams real ? Are they fancies, something you desire or mere glimmers of thought ?
How can one focus, define and realize all those inner thoughts and dreams ? How do you get to know who you are, how you should express yourself ?
Many musicians and singers tend to think that having considerable musical talent or a particularly good voice is all one needs to succeed. But to these tools it is necessary to add two no less important other tools in order to distinguish oneself as special and to rise above the crowd. One of these is marketing oneself which we will delve into in the next issue. The other is performance or as it is often referred to, stage presence and behavior. If you happen to be among the few who naturally possess these qualities, good for you. But for those who don’t, there is no alternative but to learn them. Yes, I mean learn, it is possible.
How does one go about doing this ?
I have personally witnessed the transformation of what I at first thought were both great as well as terrible performances into spectacular ones all at the hand of a skilled, caring, ruthlessly truthful and gifted coach.
To see talented people be reshaped and be re-connected with themselves before my eyes, in a matter of minutes was a privilege that each and every time made my heart soar. These metamorphoses did not come without painful self-examination. It was this process that allowed the release of the real talent and genius that lived within them. Often the Teacher’s critiques, trashing if you will, were brutal to the point that even famous artists were reduced to tears, shrieking, shaking and confusion in front of 150 fellow classmates. But these “trashings” were done with tact, compassion, skill, love and stark truthfulness. Yes, it was savvy, sincere caring, a deep understanding of human behavior as well as sharing exactly what it takes for one to succeed that provided these talented people with the knowledge, courage and strength to carve deeper into their inner-beings to hone their craft.

To be the best you can be, behavior and performance are key
_______________
I’ve learned from the Teacher that an artist’s creativity is hampered by middle class thinking and habits. It is very, very difficult to change this. Too many “Don’t do this or that’s
“ … Too many “Be careful, keep quiet’s…” influence one negatively as one grows up . That’s where the obstacles lie. Fight those obstacles as hard as you cannot with temerity but with courage. Confront your fears and the persona you present to the world.. Dare to do what you wouldn’t do.
Paraphrasing the Guru -- Dare to create an attitude for yourself. Be open, creative and willing to be counted.
Do not hesitate to take risks in your career and be willing to learn and explore. This should be a great, joyful and meaningful journey for you while you grow.
To be the best you can be, behavior and performance are key. I know first hand. One day I didn’t dare and I got trashed big time. I learned a valuable lesson which will for-ever guide me in all my life’s pursuits.
So Dare ! You’ve got it. It’s in you.

“How blessed we are to have friendship. Are we that worthy to behold our families, roasted marshmallows and the laughing innocence of children beneath this panoramic view”
Neil Caplin had no idea what would happen when the truck pulled the generator up to the campfire. The last few years were just kids, marshmallows and acoustics. This one was different.
“This is great”, they must have thought. “How blessed we are to have friendship. Are we that worthy to behold our families, roasted marshmallows and the laughing innocence of children beneath this panoramic view”
“Let’s make some music” Who thought grammar school campouts could rock it out?
. “How blessed we are to have friendship. Are we that worthy to behold our families, roasted marshmallows and the laughing innocence of children beneath this panoramic view”
Promotional Marketing Manager, lawyer, CEO, mortgage broker, financial advisor, musician, trade show manager, and a window and door installer made music as it was intended to be. They are Southland.
Neil recalls that first night. “We had no idea what would happen. We were just having fun. Then we were playing fundraisers”
Since 1990, the band added a few members and sounds. It’s an eclectic mix of blues, country, classic rock, and R&B. In the spirit of art, they delight in harmonious creation and versatility.
“Each performance and rehearsal is considered a bonding process by every band member”, says band manager Neil Caplan. “Although we have fun, our greatest challenge is keeping everyone on the same page. There’s just so much talent. Sometimes we have different members come into the band on horns, other times someone else plays the sax. It’s always different”
Then “Influence of Geography” was nominated Best Roots band in the Orange County Music Awards. “It was a stellar achievement for the most diverse entrepreneurial assortment we’d ever seen”
Caplin is taken aback and excited by the future all at the same time. “It’s going to be great. The second album’s going to have more drums, sax and trumpet medleys. We’ve got over a hundred new songs and we’re totally going to do this. If a grammar school campout can open for Blood Sweat and Tears, Dennis Quaid, and Jim Belushi, we got this. We played southern California, and we’re going full bore at Martini Blues on March 30th and the Muckenthaler Center on May 19th”
The band likes playing for their friends the most. “Every year we also do a Christmas and Superbowl party. A bang up time all around. It’s where we rock the most”

It’s a Spiritual Thing
… Sugar… Sugar…
Known as “One of the most charming cities of the South” Troy, Alabama is the traditional small-town community. Complete with a smile and friendly handshake it’s no wonder that most folks who move here never want to leave. But one young woman is on the verge of breaking that mold. Soaring sky-high with a voice and songs that inspire and transform the human heart, Lashea Money, known by her close friends as sugar, really is the sweetest thing on the block. I had the pleasure of speaking with Lashea about her music and the trials and tribulations she went through to find her voice and one true calling.
“I started singing when I was five years old. I’d sit in front of the TV on Sundays and watch the orchestra. All day I’d try to emulate what I saw the singers doing. I loved it – My Mom thought I was a little crazy, because I didn’t go outside like the other kids – but I knew I wasn’t like them – I wanted to be an Opera Singer.”
At the age of 7, Lashea began to move away from the Television and focus on singing in the Church Choir at the Morning Star Baptist Church. It was here she fell in love with the scripture and found a real purpose in her life. As time progressed and Lashea moved into high school years, she found herself ostracized from her peers. Eager to find solace in something she turned to the written word.
“At Charles Henderson High School I wasn’t to popular with my peers. This made me angry and I started writing songs. A lot of times they came out as R&B, but I decided to change them to Gospel because God had been such a positive influence in my life. Using the words of the Scripture was my way of saying thank you.”
Through the use of the Bible Lashea faced her fears and began to discover her inner voice. Fresh out of school with a pile of songs and a voice ready to spread the word of the Lord, tragedy struck the young nineteen year old: Her newborn child, Karrion Odyssie, had died in her arms at birth.
“Losing my daughter was the worst thing that ever happened to me. For two years I fought serious depression. I wanted to quit, but the Lord wouldn’t let me. As terrible as it was, I felt like it was a calling. I had been through this horrible ordeal, but now it was time to get up and help others. I learned compassion and that’s really when I came into my own as a singer/songwriter.”
Despite the traumatic setback of losing her child, Lashea refused to wallow in her own remorse. Using the strength she found in the words of the scripture she enrolled in Troy University and became a member of her School Choir. Within two weeks of joining she had learned to sing classical tunes, a huge achievement for any aspiring vocalist. Encouraged by her singing coach, she decided to pursue a full-fledged singing career. Weekly, Lashea would spend hours developing her voice through exercises singing with the diaphragm and vowel sound annunciation. Seeing steady progress in her voice training, she auditioned for the School Opera and went on to receive many lead roles in Musical Theater. Within 4 months of joining The Troy University Chorale, the young 19 year old who at one time had to stare down the face of tragedy, was now a mezzo-soprano singing in Greek and Italian, leaping from one project to another with a bright confidence and spark in her step.
At the age of 22, riding the wave of courage, the young talent decided to face her biggest fear: Auditioning for a panel of MET judges in Atlanta, Georgia. Finally she would know if she had the potential to be a professional opera singer.
“That was probably the most nervous I’ve ever been. I had to sing 5 numbers, all of them in different languages, but it was such a great experience because after I auditioned they asked me to come back! MET judges don’t just ask anyone to come back. That audition is one of the highlights of my life so far.”
Coming home to Troy with a suitcase of glowing remarks from professional judges, Lashea was bit by the singing bug and decided to form her own group,
“After the Met Experience I formed V.O.I.C.E. At first it was just me, my older sister Rebecca and my younger sister Faye, but later I added my aunt and my best friend Shannon and we became The Voices of Illios.”
With the “Voices of Illios” Lashea found the talent she needed to go into the studio and begin work on her new album. After years of singing and working on a professional career as an operatic vocalist – Lashea was now a recording artist.
“Going into the studio was a great experience. There’s nothing better than letting your creative juices flow and making those words and sounds come to life. It was a very rewarding learning experience.”
Currently Lashea is still in the process of finishing up her self-titled debut album, “It’s a Spiritual Thing.” Although Lashea’s main focus is singing and songwriting she is also a very gifted musical theater actress and an accomplished playwright. When Lashea is not writing songs, going to school w/ an emphasis in the Music Business and being a full time Mom to her five year old son – Eli – she reflects on her biggest dream of all: Managing her own business.
“I want to own my own restaurant because there really isn’t a lot to do around here and Troy needs it. I’m going to have the best chicken, freshest greens and corn bread that will make your mouth water. Not to mention the live music. The Music is really important to me. I want my restaurant to feel like a second home to everyone passing through.”
From the few songs I’ve heard on the I-Jamr website – Lashea is a force to be reckoned with. Her powerful vocals rip you out of your seat –purpose and conviction ring through every word she sings. Unlike other vocalists, who stick with a specific genre, Lashea is an artist whose influences range from Classical-Jazz-Blues and Latin Rock Salsa beats. Her songs have a groove and beat that is altogether Money, Honey. Currently I’m humming along to “I belong” a very upbeat gospel choir rant – and by the end – I want to jump in with Lashea and her sisters, and start singing along. Lashea’s words and music beckon others to follow their bliss and do what they are called to do, in her own words, “You have to live and continue to persevere no matter what. You can’t dwell in misery and despair. God is there for us and it’s our job to get back up and carry on with our glory and destiny. Don’t let depression weigh you down, share it with someone else and get it out of your system. Bottling it up is the worse thing you can do, use that experience and build your strength back up.” As Lashea states on her album: “It’s a Spiritual Thing.” I couldn’t agree with her more.
Lashea’s debut album, “It’s a Spiritual Thing” will be released in June, 2007.
